Business professional is wearing an outfit that patterns after the most successful sales person in your organization AND the expectations from the business world he/she interacts with.
When there is no knowledge of how that will look, there is often a professional code issued upon job hire that will keep you within the norm of business professional for that workplace.
Without knowledge, but attending an interview, the following clothing is on the safe side:
Dress Pants
Khaki’s
Skirts (not shorter than 2 inches above the knee) with panty hose or tights.
Dress Shirt
Suit Jacket
Dress with short sleeves or long sleeves (not shorter than 3 inches above the knee) with panty hose or tights.
Female: Makeup that is close to your natural look.
Male/Female: Cologne or perfume that is only smelled within 6 inches.
